Why yoga.jpg

Why Yoga?

Is it really possible to live a happy, meaningful and stress-free life? There are so many things that we think and worry about - our jobs, families, friends, bills, mortgages - the list goes on. And so many distractions with a phone that beeps with every message, email and social media update, addictive but frustrating at the same time.

What is it that will truly make us happy? A successful career, fame, food, loving family & friends, beautiful home, fancy car? We've all tasted success in some form, only to find that the joy of accomplishment was so fleeting and quickly being replaced by another desire and more restlessness & yearning.

So what are we really looking for?

As Sadhguru says, "Yoga is not about twisting your body or standing on your head. It is a technology of wellbeing."

The regular practice of classical Hatha yoga has a number of benefits including:

  • Strengthens the spine, skeletal and muscular systems

  • Normalizes bodily functions including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine and excretory systems

  • Improves memory, attention and concentration

  • Decreases anxiety and depression

Above all, "Hatha Yoga is about creating a body that will not be a hurdle but a stepping stone for you to blossom into your ultimate possibility." - Sadhguru
