Why Yoga?

Is it really possible to live a happy, meaningful and stress-free life? There are so many things that we think and worry about - our jobs, families, friends, bills, mortgages - the list goes on. And so many distractions with a phone that beeps with every message, email and social media update, addictive but frustrating at the same time.

What is it that will truly make us happy? A successful career, fame, food, loving family & friends, beautiful home, fancy car? We've all tasted success in some form, only to find that the joy of accomplishment was so fleeting and quickly being replaced by another desire and more restlessness & yearning.

So what are we really looking for?

As Sadhguru says, "Yoga is not about twisting your body or standing on your head. It is a technology of wellbeing."

The regular practice of classical Hatha yoga has a number of benefits including:

  • Strengthens the spine, skeletal and muscular systems

  • Normalizes bodily functions including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine and excretory systems

  • Improves memory, attention and concentration

  • Decreases anxiety and depression

Above all, "Hatha Yoga is about creating a body that will not be a hurdle but a stepping stone for you to blossom into your ultimate possibility." - Sadhguru

Sadhguru is a realized yogi and mystic – a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters. With a keen mind, balanced by a heart that knows no boundary, his presence creates an extraordinary opportunity to break through limitations into one’s natural state of freedom, love and joy.

Named one of India’s 50 most influential people, Sadhguru’s work has deeply touched the lives of millions worldwide through his transformational programs. Sadhguru has a unique ability to make the ancient yogic sciences relevant to contemporary minds, acting as a bridge to the deeper dimensions of life. His life and work are constant reminders that the inner sciences are not outdated philosophies, but rather, vitally relevant to our times. His approach does not ascribe to any belief system, but offers methods for self-transformation that are both proven and powerful.

An author, poet, visionary and internationally renowned speaker, Sadhguru’s wit and piercing logic provoke and broaden our thoughts and perception of life. Sadhguru has been an influential voice at major global forums including the UN, MIT, and the World Economic Forum, addressing issues as diverse as socio-economic development, leadership and spirituality.
Dedicated to the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of humanity and gifted with utter clarity of perception, Sadhguru possesses a perspective on life and living that never fails to intrigue, challenge and surprise all those he encounters.

Propelled by a desire to bring health and wellness to people, Jyotsna first trained to become a doctor, successfully completing her specialist training in General Medicine in Melbourne, Australia. She has more than 10 years of experience in the medical profession.

Having tasted true joy and peace during an Isha yoga program in 2016,  which subsequently deepened with regular practice of  Isha Hatha yoga, she wanted to share this possibility with others. She undertook the  1750-hour Hatha Yoga Teachers' Training Program at the Isha Yoga Centre in India in 2019. She considers it as a great privilege and responsibility to be able to share the ancient yogic methods in full purity to people in Australia and around the world.
